Sperry Marine recommends to have a regular gyrosphere maintenance 
carried out by authorized service personnel every 18 months.

The recommended 18-month maintenance comprises the removal of 
the gyrosphere, cleaning and inspection of the gyrosphere, mainte-
nance of the gyrosphere container and the re-installation of the gyro-
sphere using fresh supporting fluid. If necessary, the centering pin is to 
be replaced.

The NAVIGAT X MK 1 is counting the system operating hours automati-
cally until a maximum level (18 months) is reached. When the maximum 
level of operating hours is reached, the following message is displayed 
automatically:
RECOMMENDED ANNUAL MAINTENANCE DUE!

ried out by authorized service personnel only.

The gyrosphere and the gyrosphere container are the only components 
of the NAVIGAT X MK 1 which require regular maintenance.

For installation and service procedures of the gyrosphere and gyro-
sphere container, the following separate Installation, Maintenance and 
Service Procedures, delivered with the gyrosphere, apply:
- 04911-0125-001, for gyrosphere type 2, gyrosphere container mod. 7/2
- 04911-0125-002, for gyrosphere type 2, gyrosphere container mod. 10/2
- 05000-0125-001, for gyrosphere type 3, gyrosphere container mod. 10/3
- 05000-0125-002, for gyrosphere type 3, gyrosphere container mod. 10/3
with the NAVIGAT X MK 1 in DP vessel application.

Sperry Marine recommends to have the optical pick-off PCBs exchanged 
by default every second 18-month maintenance interval (= 36 months).

This message indicates no malfunction but is intended to remind the 
operator that the recommended maintenance interval has been 
exceeded. 
When the reminder message is acknowledged with 

Shift+F1

, the main 

menu is displayed.
During gyrosphere maintenance, the gyrosphere operation time counter 
will be reset.
