Troubleshooting
No audio signal available
• Depending on the position of the sliding switch (3), the playback device (e.g. a Blu-ray player
or a game console) makes the corresponding audio signal available (LPCM7.1, Dolby 5.1,
stereo-/2-channel LPCM), depending on the options of the signal source or the soundtrack
e.g. on a Blu-ray.
The sliding switch (3) signals the playback device, using the EDID, which audio signal it may
provide as a maximum.
If necessary, test all 3 switch settings or select another soundtrack for the playback of a Blu-
ray. Also check the audio settings e.g. of your Blu-ray player.
In the switch setting “2CH” the audio extractor supplies the audio signal to all outputs, but
only one stereo signal. The RCA jacks “SL”, “SR”, “CEN”, “SW” do not function.
• Check whether the correct input on your amplifier is activated and whether all cables are
correctly connected.
• Check whether the mute button on one of the connected devices may have been pressed.
• Is the audio extractor supplied with power, and is it switched on? When it is switched off
(Power LED of the audio extractor is not lit), no output carries a signal; even the HDMI signal
is not looped through.
Unnatural or bad sound through analogue 5.1 output
• Check the correct cabling of the 6 RCA jacks of the audio extractor to the amplifier. If, for
example, the front audio outputs (“FL” and “FR”) are switched here with the surround outputs
(“SL” and “SR”), the complete room sound is no longer correct.
No function
• Is the audio extractor supplied with power, and is it switched on?
Handling
• Use is permitted only in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is
danger to life through an electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a warm one.
The condensation that forms can destroy the product under certain circumstances. The wall
plug transformer also poses a risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and
putting it into use. This may take several hours.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an authorised repair shop.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during transport:
- Excessive humidity or dampness
- Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gasses, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
Maintenance and Cleaning
• The product does not require any maintenance. You should never take it apart. Any mainte-
nance or repair work may be performed only by an expert.
• Before cleaning, the product is to be separated from the mains voltage; pull the wall plug
transformer from the mains socket.
• The outside of the product should be cleaned only with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing
(discolouring) or impair operation.
• Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-bristle brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of as domestic waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
