Automatic Mode
Automatic Mode helps you to better manage the freeze-dry process. Each function
has a corresponding red LED that lights when the button is active.
Note: All Manual Mode functions must be off prior to initiating the automated freeze-dry
process.
Creating a Recipe
Before beginning an automatic freeze-dry cycle, a recipe must first be created. The
recipe screens allow you to create and save up to sixteen recipes.
Note: Press the Profile button to display the recipe temperature trend line. It is good practice to
verify that your recipe is correct prior to starting an automatic cycle.
To program a recipe:
1. Press the Recipe button to access the main recipe menu.
2. Enter a Recipe Number (01-16) using the numeric keypad.
3. Select a recipe menu (Thermal Treatment Steps, Drying Cycle Steps, etc. )
using the Up and Down arrow buttons and press Enter to proceed.
Note: Recipe menus are explained in the following sections.
4. Once in a recipe menu, use the numeric keypad to enter the desired value in
each field and the
Up and Down arrow keys to progress through the step
parameters. Use the
±
key to toggle between positive and negative values.
Temperature, displayed in Celsius, may be adjusted in increments of one (1).
Time, displayed in minutes, may be adjusted in increments of five (5).
Vacuum pressure may be displayed in mTorr,
μ
Bar or kPa, depending on
your Maintenance settings, and may be adjusted in increments of 10.
Note: Enter a zero (0) value in the time field of a step to skip the remaining steps and
proceed to the next phase.
