Cannot access the AIT library
• Make sure the SCSI IDs assigned to the library, AIT drive, and main server
do not overlap. You cannot set overlapping SCSI IDs on a single SCSI bus.
Refer to “Setting the SCSI ID” in Chapter 2, “Installation” of the separate “
AIT Library: Operating Instructions”.
• Make sure the SCSI cable is connected properly.
• Make sure the SCSI bus is terminated correctly. Refer to “About SCSI Bus”
in the appendix of the separate “AIT Library: Operating Instructions”.

For more on application software that can be used with this system and
compatible operating systems, contact your dealer.
Cannot read data or write data, even though the

correctly.
• Make sure the cartridges’ erase-protection tab is set to the write-enable
position. Refer to “Replacing the Cartridges” in Chapter 4,“Operating the AIT
Library” of the separate “AIT Library: Operating Instructions”.
• Make sure to use Sony-manufactured AIT cartridges. Also, check to make
sure the cartridges you are using are compatible with the AIT drive (page 6).
• If the cartridge has been used for a long time or with high frequency, you need
to replace it with a new cartridge. Contact your dealer.
• Make sure the cartridge tape has not broken.
• Try cleaning the AIT drive. Refer to “Cleaning the AIT Drive” in Chapter 5,
“Operating the AIT Drive” of the separate “AIT Library: Operating
Instructions”.
