Chapter 3 Using the Web Administration Screen
• HNF VDM: Selecting this check box activates the function to duplicate data
in the user area. You can then use the VDM (Volume Duplicate Management)
function to duplicate data by copying data in the user area to two volumes. If
one volume is malfunctioning, you can recover the data from the other
volume. For information on the recovery method, contact your dealer.
You can also specify the number of volumes to duplicate in a library. Also,
you can use this function together with the HNF OFM function.
• HNF Messenger: Selecting this box activates the HNF Messenger function.
• UPS Manager: Selecting this box adtivates the UPS function. When you
connect a UPS, the settings are required. For information on UPS compatible
with HNF, contact your dealer.
Note
At time of installation, [Tape migration policy] and [Misc configuration] are
optimally configured according to your applications, operating environment,
etc. You should not change these settings as long as system operation is
unaffected.
If system operation is affected, contact your dealer before changing these
settings.
Command buttons
You can use the following commands from the [Software Configuration]
screen.
[Services] Menu
From the [Services] menu, you can run software necessary for system operation,
take a system log, etc.
Starting and Stopping PetaServe
From the [Start/Stop of PetaServe] screen, you can display the current status of
PetaServe in addition to starting and stopping PetaServe processes.

Applies and saves the settings that have been input.
Refresh
Refreshes the information on the screen.
Test transmission
Sends a test message to the specified e-mail address.
