To use the time counter
At the point on the tape that you want to find later, press COUNTER
RESET. The counter in the display window resets to “0H00M00S.”
To display the time counter on the TV screen, press DISPLAY.
To change the information in the display window
Press STATUS repeatedly.
Each press changes the indication in the following way:
Current time
n
Counter
n
Tape remaining time
n
Operating function
n
Sound field

Regardless of the selected indication, the operational function and
selected sound field appears in the display window momentarily. To
display only the indication selected with the STATUS button, set
INDICATION in the ADVANCED OPTIONS to OFF (see page 89).
To mute the sound
Press MUTING on the remote commander or unit. The muting mark
appears on the TV screen if the on-screen display function is on, and the
MASTER VOLUME indicator on the unit flashes.
To restore the sound, press MUTING again.

• Tapes recorded in the LP
mode on other VCRs can be
played back on this VCR but
the picture quality cannot be
guaranteed.
• The counter stops counting
when it comes to an
unrecorded portion.

appear on the TV screen,
press DISPLAY.
