Operating the Tape Deck Using OSD
Recording from CD: Specifying
Track Order (program edit)
You can match the total recording time to the tape
length while making a program.

Press EJECT
§
on the right speaker and insert a
blank tape into the tape deck, with the side you
want to record facing forward.
Make sure the tabs on the cassette have not been
removed.

Follow the procedure in steps 1 through 7 of
“Playing Tracks in a Desired Order (program
play)” on page 35 to program the tracks you want
to record for side A. Make sure the total playing
time for side A does not exceed the length of one
side of the tape.

Click PAUSE.
The total playing time returns to “0.00.”

Program the tracks you want to record for side B
the same way you programed side A.

Click SUB to return to the SUB menu.

Click REC EDIT.
The program length for side B remains displayed.

* Recording always stops at the end of the reverse
side. Be sure to start from the front side.

Click DOLBY NR to select “DOLBY NR: B” or
“DOLBY NR: C” when you want to reduce tape
hiss in low-level, high- frequency signals.

Click CD SYNCHRO.
“CD SYNC” appears and the CD player and tape
deck enter recording pause mode. The direction
indicator in the REC EDIT control panel (

)
indicates the direction in which recording will
start.
If you want to record on the reverse side only

, in the REC EDIT control panel, to release
recording pause. Recording starts.
To stop recording
Click

in the REC EDIT control panel.
To cancel the CD program play mode before starting to
record (in step 10)
Click PROGRAM repeatedly to select “CONTINUE”.
The program play mode cannot be cancelled during synchro
recording.
To erase the program contents
1 Click
p
to stop playback.
2 Click RESET in the PROGRAM EDIT menu.
To go back to the previous menu
Click RETURN or press RETURN on the remote control.
To exit to the main menu.
Click EXIT or press EXIT on the remote control.
Note
Adjusting the volume will not effect the recording level.
But this will change the sound levels you hear through the
speakers or headphones.
