3-2-11. Firmware Upgrade
Note:
Before performing this process, prepare the latest firmware file.
Contact your service headquarter of each area how to get the latest
firmware file.

System requirements for the “Firmware upgrade tool”:
OS:
Windows XP, Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4 and above)
or Windows ME
CPU:
Preferably Pentium III or equivalent and above
RAM: 256MB and above

Preparations:
1)
Ensure that the battery icon on the HDPS-M10 LCD screen
shows at least 2 bars remaining. Otherwise, charge the HDPS-
M10 until the battery level is sufficient. The battery icon in the
following figure shows that the battery is fully charged.

2)
Remove the memory cards from the HDSP-M10.
3)
To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation,
save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should
be clear of applications before proceeding.
4)
Copy the following firmware file to the desk top of the PC.
“Sony0219_US.exe” (US model)
“Sony0219_WW.exe” (The other model)
Firmware Upgrade:
1)
Connect the HDPS-M10 and the PC using the USB cable.
2)
Turn on the power of HDPS-M10.
Note:
The AC power adaptor must be disconnected during the upgrade
process.
3)
Ensure that the HDPS-M10 is detected by the PC.
4)
Double click the following file on the desk top of the PC to
start up the “Firmware upgrade tool”.

5)
The “Firmware Version” and “New Firmware Version” will be
displayed on the “Messages” pane of the “Firmware upgrade
tool”.

6)
Click on the “Start Firmware Upgrade” button. The firmware
upgrade process will begin.
7)
The HDPS-M10 will power off when the “Upgrade Status”
bar reaches about 1/3 complete. As soon as “Please power on
device again.” is displayed in the “Messages” pane, press the
POWER button within 25 seconds to power on the unit.
