Tilt-lock/friction adjustment lever
Adjusts the amount of friction in the tilting mechanism,
and locks the viewfinder at a desired angle.
The angle is locked when the lever is pushed towards the
camera lens. When the lever is pulled towards the back of
the camera, the tilting mechanism can be adjusted.

CONTRAST control
Adjusts the picture contrast. (This control has no effect on
the camera’s video output signals.)

BRIGHT (brightness) control
Adjusts the picture brightness. (This control has no effect
on the camera’s video output signals.)

Lift-lock release knob 1
Used in conjunction with lift-lock release knob 2 to adjust
the viewfinder height.
For the height adjustment operation, see “Adjusting the
Height” on page 24.

PEAKING control
Sharpens the edges in the picture. (This control has no
effect on the camera’s video output signals.) Turning the
control clockwise increases the sharpness.

Pan-lock/friction adjustment lever
Adjusts the amount of friction in the panning mechanism,
and locks the viewfinder at a desired position.
Turn the lever towards “LOCK” to lock the position of the
viewfinder. Turn the lever towards “RELEASE” to adjust
the panning mechanism.

Green (G) tally lamps
Light up when the camera receives a green tally signal.

Mounting wedge
To attach the viewfinder to the camera, insert the mounting
wedge into the V-shaped shoe attachment on top of the
camera.

MENU control
Selects and enters menu items.
Use with the MENU switch to set various functions.

MENU switch
Displays the menu.
Use with the MENU control to set various functions.
Also locks the PEAKING/BRIGHT/CONTRAST controls
at their current settings. Press for 3 seconds or more to lock
the controls (“VR LOCK” appears in the viewfinder).
Press again for 3 seconds or more to unlock the controls
(“VR UNLOCK” appears in the viewfinder).

External tally lamp
Lights up red when the camera receives a red tally signal.
Can be used to display the camera number by attaching one
of the supplied number plates (0 through 9).

ASSIGN. 1/ASSIGN. 2 (Assignable 1/2) switches
Can be used to store frequently used functions.
Storing a function is done through a menu operations.

Used in conjunction with lift-lock release knob 1 to adjust
the viewfinder height.

CAMERA connector (round type 20-pin)
Connect to the camera’s viewfinder connector using the
supplied connecting cable.

Cable clamper
Clamps the supplied connecting cable.

(attention) indicator
This indicator lights when the camera detects certain
conditions. The particular conditions which cause the
indicator to light up can be set by the camera.
For information on how to set up and verify the conditions
under which the
indicator will light, refer to the
manual for the camera being used.

MAG (magnification) indicator
Lights up when “MAGNIFICATION” in the menu is set to
“ON” and the image is magnified.

Magnified section indicator
Shows which section of the screen is magnified: center
(
), upper left (
), upper right (
), lower right
(
), or lower left (
).

BATT (battery) indicator
This indicator blinks when the voltage output of the
camera battery drops. When the battery reaches a point that
it may no longer be used, the indicator will light up.
To prevent camera shut down due to the battery running
down, change the battery as soon as possible after this
indicator begins blinking.
The threshold battery voltage value at which this
indication begins blinking can be set by the camera. For
details, refer to the manual for the camera.
