5-5. SELECTING THE TEST MODE
There are altogether 26 test modes, shown in the following table. Rotating the VOLUME knob to the right switches to the mode below the
current mode in the table while rotating to the left switches to the mode above. Each time the

diagnosis function on page 2.
• If other modes are set accidentally, press the
^
(CD) button to exit that mode.
• As items marked (
X
) in the “Mark” column are not used during servicing, they are not described here. If these modes are set accidentally,
press the
^
(CD) button to exit the mode. Be especially careful with items marked (!) as they will overwrite the non-volatile memory,
and as a result, the unit will not operate normally.

1. Entering the continuous playback mode

Set the disc in the unit. (Recordable discs or discs for playback only.)

Rotate the VOLUME knob and display “CPLAY MODE”.

(CD) button to change the display to “CPLAY MID”.

When access completes, the display changes to “C =

Note : The numbers “ ” displayed indicate the error rates and “ADER”.
