TEST MODE
GC TEST MODE
• This mode is used to check the fl uorescent indicator tube,
LEDs, keys, VOLUME knob, OPERATION DIAL knob,
model, destination and software version.
Procedure:
1. Press
[
s
] button, [BEAT PATTERN] button and
[MENU/RETURN] on CHANNEL A button simultaneously.
2. All LEDs and segments in fl uorescent indicator tube are
lighted up. All LEDs are lighted up including [
] LED
where the LED is lighted up in red and blue color.
3. When you want to enter to the model version and destination
display mode, press [BEAT ON/OFF] button. The model
information appears on the fl uorescent indicator tube.
4. Each time [BEAT ON/OFF] button is pressed, the display
changes to display software version and date of the software
creation. The sequence is SC, GC, SYS, CD, CDDM, CDMA,
CDMB, BDA, BDB, ST, TC, TA, TM, MM1, MM2, IP1 and
IP2 in this order, and returns to the model version display.
5. Press [BEAT PATTERN] button, the key check mode is
activated.
6. In the key check mode, the fl uorescent indicator tube
displays.

Turn the [MULTI JOG DIAL A] clockwise; ”J” value on the
left increases by one. Turn the [MULTI JOG DIAL A]
counterclockwise; “J” value on the left decreases by one.
Turn the [MULTI JOG DIAL B] clockwise; ”J” value on
the right increases by one. Turn the [MULTI JOG DIAL B]
counterclockwise; “J” value on the right decreases by one.
Each time a button is pressed, “K” value increases. Press
other keys on main unit to check whether the key is detected.
However, once a button has been pressed, it is no longer
taken into account.
“V” value increases in the manner of 0, 1, 2, 3 ... if
[VOLUME] knob is turned clockwise, or it decreases in the
manner of 0, 9, 8, 7 ... if [VOLUME] knob is turned
counterclockwise.
“L” value increases in the manner of 0, 1, 2, 3 ... if [LOW]
knob is turned clockwise, or it decreases in the manner of 0,
9, 8, 7 ... if [LOW] knob is turned counterclockwise.
“M” value increases in the manner of 0, 1, 2, 3 ... if [MID]
knob is turned clockwise, or it decreases in the manner of 0,
9, 8, 7 ... if [MID] knob is turned counterclockwise.
“H” value increases in the manner of 0, 1, 2, 3 ... if [HIGH]
knob is turned clockwise, or it decreases in the manner of 0,
9, 8, 7 ... if [HIGH] knob is turned counterclockwise.
7. When [BEAT LEVEL] button is pressed after all LEDs and
segments in fl uorescent indicator tube light up, alternate
segments in fl uorescent indicator tube and LED would light
up. If you press [BEAT LEVEL] button again, another half
of alternate segments in fl uorescent indicator tube and LED
would light up. Press [BEAT LEVEL] button would cause
all segments in fl uorescent indicator tube and LED turns off.
Press [BEAT LEVEL] button again would cause all segments
and LED lights up.
8. To release from this mode, press three buttons in the same
manner as step 1, or disconnect the power cord.
MC TEST MODE
• This mode is used to check operations of the respective
sections of Amplifi er, Cross Fader Slider, and
i
Level.
Procedure:
• To enter MC Test Mode
1. Press
[
s
] button, [BEAT LEVEL] button and
[MENU/RETURN] on CHANNEL A button simultaneously.
2. The Groove, Surround, Booster, Beat Level indicators fl ash
on the fl uorescent indicator tube. The function is changed to
LINE IN 2.
• Check of Amplifi er
1. Turn [LOW] knob/[MID] knob/[HIGH] knob repeatedly until
a message “GEQ MAX” appears on the fl uorescent indicator
tube. GEQ increases to its maximum.
2. Turn [LOW] knob/[MID] knob/[HIGH] knob repeatedly until
a message “GEQ MIN” appears on the fl uorescent indicator
tube. GEQ decreases to its minimum.
3. Turn [LOW] knob/[MID] knob/[HIGH] knob repeatedly until
a message “GEQ FLAT” appears on the fl uorescent indicator
tube. GEQ is set to fl at.
4. When the [VOLUME] knob is turned clockwise even slightly,
the sound volume increases to its maximum and a message
“VOLUME MAX” appears on the fl uorescent indicator tube.
5. When the [VOLUME] knob is turned counterclockwise even
slightly, the sound volume decreases to its minimum and a
message “VOLUME MIN” appears on the fl uorescent
indicator
tube.
• Check of Cross Fader Slider
1. Slide the [CROSS FADER] slider from one position to
another. “LVL 0” appears when the slider is on the right
position and “LVL12” appears when the slider is on the left
position.
• Check of

Level
1. Turn the [
i
LEVEL] knob clockwise or counterclockwise.
“LVL 0” appears when the knob is on the MIN position and
“LVL15” appears when the knob is on the MAX position.
• To release from MC Test mode
1. To release from this mode, press [
?/1
] button.
2. The cold reset is enforced at the same time.
COLD RESET
• The cold reset clears all data including preset data stored in the
RAM to initial conditions.
• Execute this mode when returning the set to the customer.
• Procedure:
1. Press
[
s
] button, [PAD I] button, and [
?/1
] button
simultaneously.
2. The
fl uorescent indicator tube becomes blank for a while,
and the set is reset.
VACS ON/OFF
• This mode is used to switch ON and OFF the VACS (Variable
Attenuation Control System).
• Procedure:
1. Press
[
?/1
] button to turn the set ON.
2. Press
[
s
] button and [OPTIONS] button simultaneously.
The message “VACS OFF” or “VACS ON” appears on
the fl uorescent indicator tube.
