• [xxx] is shown on the screen when the shutter speed is set to 1/xxx second.
• When [PROGRAM AE] is set to anything other than [AUTO], [SHUTTR SPEED] returns
to [AUTO].
• The shutter speed cannot be changed while you are using the following functions.

Tip
• When shooting a bright subject, setting the shutter speed to a slower value is recommended.
If the shutter speed is too fast, vertical lines may appear.
• At a slow shutter speed, automatic focus may be lost. Use a tripod and adjust the focus
manually.
• When recording under a discharge tube such as a fluorescent lamp, sodium lamp or
mercury lamp, the screen may become bright or dim (flickering phenomenon) or color
discrepancies may occur depending on the shutter speed.

when the POWER switch is set to the CAMERA-TAPE mode, and
between 1/500 and 1/60 second when the POWER switch is set to the
CAMERA-MEMORY mode.
