Method B : Using the internal level meter
(CCP-1100SF)
Test equipment : Tool cord
Test tape 10 kHz (P-4-A100-2)
Procedure :
1. Change over the S1 on the MT-2 board to CHECK side.
*2. Disconnect the connector CN1 of original head
(playback) on the AU-2 board.
*3. Disconnect the connector CN4 of copy head (record)
on the AU-2 board.
*4. Connect the tool cord to the copy head connector and
connector CN1 on the AU-2 board.
5. Insert the test tape 10 kHz (P-4-A100-2) into the deck
to be adjusted.
6. Press the AUTO COPY button for the service mode to
activate the playback status.
7. Rotate the azimuth adjustment screw “A” so that the
reading of both level meters becomes the maximum.
(Since fine adjustment is possible where the level
meter is around 0 dB, rotate to azimuth adjustment
screw “A” while adjusting the VOLUME so that the
playback level of 10 kHz is about 0 dB).
8. After adjustment, return the S1 on the meter board
from CHECK side to NORMAL side. With the S1 in
CHECK position, the level is raised by about 20 dB so
that a weak signal from the head can be indicated on
the meter.
* The items marked

are not necessary for P.B. head adjustment.
4-2-2. Playback level adjustment
Test equipment : Level meter
Test tape 315 Hz(P-4-L300)
Note : Before this adjustment, clean the head and pinch roller, then
demagnetize the head using the demagnetizer.
Procedure :
1.
Set the playback level controls A and B (RV1 and RV11
on the MT-2 board) to the center.
2.
Turn the POWER switch ON.
3.
Set the SIDE selector to “A
+
B”.
4.
Insert the test tape 315 Hz (P-4-L300) on the original
side, and connect the level meter to the following test
point on the AU-2 board.
5.
Press the COPY button, then measure the output level
(TP5 and TP6 on the AU-2 board) by level meter.
6.
Adjust the RV1 and RV2 associated with each test
point so that the output is in specification.
