Group Config ->Group Assignments

The Group Assignment web page allows the user
to select the 4 active groups to be assigned to the
Mix Engine from the 16 groups available.
Using both Grab – to add a group to an unused slot
and release to free a group from an assigned slot
will cause a double confirmation dialog with the
second dialog swapping the Yes No positions to
absolutely ensure that the new group assignment
is what the user wants. In later software there will
be information about groups that are assigned
elsewhere as the grab function will automatically
remove the group from other mix engines as it is
grabbed locally.
If another Mix Engine is already assigned to a
group it normally is forced to release it when the
user selects a group here, but if the Mix Engine is
disconnected from the network or de-powered
then this cannot happen. Consequently when this
other Mix Engine is connected there will be a clash
as both Mix Engines will want to have control of
the group. In this case the newest Mix Engine will
fail to gain control and a message will be shown on
its front panel and the above screen will show
RESOLVE instead of RELEASE. Pressing this will
allow the user to relinquish control of the group or
grab the group and force the other Mix Engine to
relinquish control.
