MP3 music (optional) – Advice for the studio owner
Studio customers may connect their private MP3 players to the sunbed
if the "Audio System" accessory is fitted.
The personal use of an MP3 player during tanning is
not a public broad-
cast in copyright terms, so that there is no obligation for registration or
payment by the studio owner to the GEMA

.
The same regulations apply for the official use of MP3 music files as for
other music sources: As studio owner you are only allowed to use original
audio CDs, MCs, audio DVDs etc. in your premises and / or play them in
the MP3 music module fitted to the SOLTRON professional sunbed if you
have already obtained the corresponding performing rights (GEMA
1) /
GVL
1)
).
Copy-protected audio CDs, MCs, audio DVDs etc., as well as the tracks
included on these media, are not allowed to be converted to MP3 format
and / or stored on hard discs, audio CDs, MCs, audio DVDs etc. when
software and / or computer programs are used for this purpose which
cancel or avoid the copy-protection included on the storage media.
On request of field staff or other GEMA1) controlling bodies you must at
any time be able to show evidence of the rights gained by presenting the
certificate issued by the GEMA1).
As long you follow the advice given above and have gained of the nec-
essary rights, you may convert your original audio CDs, MCs, audio
DVDs etc. to the MP3 format required for the player. However, you may
only create one copy (either a duplicate or a conversion to MP3 format)
for each audio CD, MC, audio DVD etc. for which you have obtained the
legal rights. The original sound storage medium must be stored and is
not allowed to be used at the same time.
