2. STEP:
ADJUSTING THE GRIND SIZE
For making espresso, we recommend starting with grind size no. 12 in the ESPRESSO
range, experimenting and setting the grind size finer resp. coarser with each espresso
preparation and thus, together with the amount of coffee powder, creating your
ideal espresso. Turn the
GRIND SIZE
controller so that the arrow in the grind size bar
is in the ESPRESSO range and “12” lights up in the display by GRIND SIZE.

Note:
In case the grind size controller can not be moved, you should let the grinder
run idly for a short time. To do that, press the
START / PAUSE / CANCEL
button and
simultaneously turn the controller. This will remove potentially stuck coffee beans
from the grinder.
GRINDING DIRECTLY INTO THE PORTAFILTER
OF AN ESPRESSO MACHINE
Use single walled filter inserts when using freshly ground coffee powder. For single
walled filter inserts, we recommend a setting between 1 and 30 in the ESPRESSO
range.
1. STEP:
INSERTING THE PORTAFILTER WITH THE FILTER INSERT
INTO THE APPLIANCE
– Choose the portafilter bracket that suits your portafilter:
either small for 50–54 mm or large for 58 mm.
– Push the portafilter bracket into the rails on the left and right of the coffee powder
outlet so that it locks into place.
