
2.7 Care should be taken to ensure soft
furnishings or decorations, such as
wallpaper, are not too near the appliance, as
they may become discoloured or scorched.
3) INSTALLING THE APPLIANCE
3.1. Check that the fire opening, flue and
chimney comply with the relevant Building
Regulations for England and Scotland.
3.2 Remove the ceramic components from
their packaging and check quantity and that
they are not damaged. Also remove
baseboard from the fire and the fibre burner
inserts situated in the cavity between the two burner outlet slots.
3.3 Remove the brass trim from the main casing, by lifting the trim up and pulling
forward. To use the
tie-wire
kit for installation, refer to
Figure 3
The two eye- fixings need screwing to the fire opening using the wall plugs provided in
the area shown. Use a screwdriver to gently prize up the tie wire brackets on the lid of
the fire. Pass the open ends of the wires through the lugs on the top of fire box and
pull through to the fixed nipple. Put the
tie-wires through the eye-fixings and
through the two holes in the bottom
rear of the fire case. Apply the foam
seal to the inside of the flange to
ensure a perfect seal is maintained
around the fireplace opening. Position
the fire case into the opening, put the
two tensioning bolts onto the wires
together with the locking screws and
position into the two holes. Pull the
wires hand tight and tighten the
locking screws. Finally tension the two
bolts against the case to form a seal
against the fireplace opening. For
conventional fitting proceed go to
section 3.4 .

3.4 Place the main casing into the
prepared fire opening and mark out the
fixing holes to drill and plug the wall or
the marble
(see Fig 4)
. Apply the
foam seal centrally to the inside of the
flange of the firebox by removing the
backing strip this will ensure a perfect seal is maintained around the fireplace opening.
The main casing must be fitted so it can be removed for routine servicing purposes
and must not be permanently by cementing in.
