Follow Rest

The follow rest is designed to support behind a small part to keep it from
flexing away from the cutter during turning operations. The follow rest
mounts on the left side of the carriage as shown below.

The supports are adjusted before each pass since the material is getting
smaller with each pass. It Is also necessary to lubricate the workpiece and
the supports with grease to limit the friction between the parts while turning.
