PROCEDURE 5:
CHECK STATOR WINDING - EXCITER RESISTANCES
• Check wire number tags. Label with tape and pen if missing.
• Cut wires at crimp connectors.
• Strip insulation back 1/4”
≈
(0.5 cm) to expose bare wire.
• Test winding pairs (1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11 & 12,) (See
Fig. 5.1)
• Test yellow exciter wires (See Fig. 5.3) according to table below:
• Test 12 Volt winding pairs (White/White, Black/Black). Each should
measure
≈
0.1 Ohms (See Fig. 5.2).
• Check insulation of all windings to ground (open connection). (See
Fig. 5.4.)
• Replace Stator if out of specifications.
