Disarming the System
When you enter an armed premises, an Entry Delay period starts:
The System Status Header changes to announce ―ALARM IN <X> SECONDS‖ (where
<X> is the number of seconds before the system is armed)
The TouchScreen beeps audibly once every second, until the last 10 seconds when it beeps
twice a second.
Enter a valid keypad code to disarm the system.
If a valid keypad code is not entered by the end of the Entry Delay period, an alarm sounds. From
the time an alarm sounds (or starts silently), for most reasons, you have 30 seconds (default) to enter
a valid keypad code to disarm the system and prevent an alarm being sent to the central monitoring
station. This is called the
Alarm Transmission delay
or the Abort Window.
Consult with your installer or Customer Care to understand the Alarm Transmission Delay that is
configured in your system. The Alarm Transmission Delay period prevents a report to the central
station if a valid keypad code system is not entered to disarm during the Entry Delay or any event in
which an alarm was triggered innocently.
IMPORTANT:
Emergency alarms (see page 27) and
smoke alarms are reported without an Alarm Transmission delay or an Entry Delay. After the Alarm
Transmission Delay period, you still have 5 minutes to disarm the system. If you do this and central
monitoring has not contacted you, central monitoring is notified that you have cancelled the alarm.
