To verifying Y our TCP / IP Connection is configured properly and you are able to access the
W ireless Cable Modem G ateway’ s web-based management screens – you can use the ‘ P ing’
command in DO S.
To access the DO S dialog window please follow the steps below:
1.
Click Start, then choose R un
2.
W indows 98 / Me users type “ command” and click the [ O K ] button.
W indows 2000/ X P users type “ cmd” and click the [ O K ] button.
3.
At the prompt, type: ping 10.1.10.1 (Depending on your cable operator, the default IP
address of the gateway is either 10.1.10.1 or 192.16 8 .0.1).
After you click [ enter] to ex ecute the P ING command you will get some information
back, below is an outline of the possible return messages:

There may be something wrong in your installation procedure. Check the following
items in seq uence:
1.
Is the E thernet cable correctly connected between the G ateway and the computer?
2.
The L AN L E D on the G ateway and the L ink L E D of the network card on your
computer must be on.
3.
Is TCP / IP properly configured on your computer?
