PCIE-7217 Installation and Use (6806873A01B)

Software

6.2.1.1

Disk Installation

To create a bootable USB on Linux machine, use the shelfHost with a USB connector at

the front.

Procedure

Connect the USB drive.

Mount the

MC4K-BBS_<Version number>.iso

to a directory.

$ mkdir -p /mnt

$ mount MC4K-BBS_<Version number>.iso /mnt

Run the

create_bootusb.sh

script available in the

utlis

directory under mount point

and then follow on-screen instructions.

$ /mnt/utils/create_bootusb.sh

You can now install the software using this bootable USB.

Access the console. For access methods, refer to

UART (COM port) on page 55

Connect the bootable USB drive with an OTG cable to the microUSB connector at the
card bracket and reboot the CPU.

Change the BIOS mode to UEFI. Refer to BIOS sections in the installation and use
manuals of respective PCIe cards.

Boot the card with bootable USB drive.

Identify the name of the target storage device. The target storage device could be
on-board SSD, 2.5" SATA, NVMe, or iSCSI.

disk_install.sh -l

10. Execute

disk_install.sh -d disk:<storage-device> -i bootusb

If you want to install Complete ISO on shelfHost using a bootable USB and also want
to setup TFTP server to enable PXEboot for applicationCPUs, use the following
command:

utils

mkinitramfs

Utility to create

ramfs.xz

image

unpackinitramfs

Utility to unpack

ramfs.xz

image

create_bootusp.sh

Utility to install

kernel

and

ramfs

onto disk and create

it bootable
