How often can I use
BAXOLVE
?
You can use
BAXOLVE
to relieve pain as and when
you need to. However, it is not recommended
that you use the lumbar support or TENS for
more than 8 hours per day. When using
BAXOLVE
for more than one hour at a time, you should
turn off the stimulation for at least 5 minutes
every hour.
Can I use the lumbar support belt without
TENS?
Absolutely. The lumbar support belt can be used
on its own as a means of back support.
Can
BAXOLVE
be used in conjunction with other
forms of pain relief ?
BAXOLVE
may be used as the sole form of back
pain relief. However, it can also be used safely
in conjunction with almost all forms of pain
therapy (see the Contra-Indications on page 13
for exceptions). However, you must consult your
doctor first.
Do I need a prescription to use
BAXOLVE
?
No, but you should always discuss using
BAXOLVE
with your doctor first to ensure compliance with
any ongoing treatment.
Can I move around while using the unit?
Yes,
BAXOLVE
has been specifically developed
to allow for maximum mobility during use.
The unit may be worn under clothing offering
effective back pain relief whenever and
wherever needed with minimum inconvenience.
Is
BAXOLVE
safe?
BAXOLVE
is an extremely safe method of drug-free
pain relief. If you notice some skin redness after
a session it may be due to an increase in blood-
flow, pressure from the stretched belt or having
the intensity level too high. The redness should
fade shortly after the treatment. If the problem
persists, stop using the unit and seek further
advice.
What if I accidentally detach one of the adhe -
sive pads?
BAXOLVE
is designed with a state-of-the-art pad
contact indicator, which only allows the unit to
deliver stimulation when the adhesive pads are
in full contact with the skin. If a pad becomes
detached during use, the stimulation will stop
and the unit will beep. When the pad is re-
attached, the unit will automatically increase
the stimulation to the previously set level.
What should I do if treatment becomes uncom -
fortable?
BAXOLVE
is designed to
reduce
back pain.
However, if the pain appears to become more
uncomfortable during a session, loosen the belt
slightly and/ or decrease the unit’s intensity. If
the discomfort does not improve, you should
discontinue use of
BAXOLVE
and try again at a
later stage. Please consult your doctor if the
problem persists.
Who shouldn’t use
BAXOLVE
?
Almost all adults can safely and effectively use
BAXOLVE
. Please check the Contra-Indications on
page 13 for those who should seek other forms
of therapy.
Which program should I use?
The table on page 5 gives an indication of which
program should be used for various types of
pain and what you should feel while using
BAXOLVE
.
Can
BAXOLVE
be used on other body parts (for
example neck & shoulder)?
BAXOLVE
has been specifically designed for lower
back pain. However we have also included some
wires & pads so you can use the control unit for
pain in other parts of your body. To take advan-
tage of this added feature you need to connect
the blue leads to the bottom of the control unit,
then connect the 4 pads to the end of the leads
(see pages 8-9).
* Pad Contact Indicator
BAXOLVE
has a built-in pad contact Indicator, which checks each pad’s contact with your skin. When
a poor connection is detected, the attention symbol ( ) will flash and the unit will beep. The
treatment session timer will also pause, the intensity level will drop to zero and the Up intensity
keys are disabled. If this happens, check the pads and belt to the pads are in full contact with your
skin. When proper contact is restored, the signal increases to the previously set intensity level.
