INITIAL SETUP

SETUP STEP 1: RECEIVER BOX SETUP.

Follow wiring instructions to connect the RECEIVER to your appliance

as if it were a thermostat

.

Install 4 "AA" batteries in the battery compartment.

If required, set your appliance to be responsive to the thermostat (using settings such as AUTO/OFF or HI/LO –
NOT “Manual”).  Note: some appliances only operate by thermostat.
Slide the

ON/OFF/REMOTE

 slide button to

ON

and verify that the appliance has turned on. If not, check the

wiring and verify that the appliance is plugged into an electrical out (if required).
Slide the

ON/OFF/REMOTE

 slide button to

OFF

. Your appliance will turn off and/or indicate that it has received a

thermostat shutdown signal.  (Note: Pellet stove operation varies, the stove may remain on for some period of

time before shutting down).
Slide the

ON/OFF/REMOTE

 slide button to REMOTE.

SETUP STEP 2: Install the batteries into the handheld Transmitter.

Install 4 “AAA” batteries in the handheld

Transmitter.  Be sure the batteries are installed with the (+) and (-) ends facing the correct direction.  When you start up
the remote, if a low battery signal appears or if the LCD screen does not illuminate when you touch it, check battery
position and that the batteries are fully charged.

SETUP STEP 3: Check that you are not in Child “LOCK-OUT” mode (CP)

This remote control includes a CHILDPROOF “LOCK-OUT” feature that allows the user to “LOCK-
OUT” operation of the appliance from the handheld Transmitter.  To activate the “LOCK-OUT”
feature, simultaneously press and hold the

UP

icon on the touchscreen and the

[SET]

 button for 5

seconds. The Lock icon will appear on the LCD screen.

To disengage the “LOCK-OUT”, simultaneously press and hold the

UP

 icon on the touchscreen

and the

[SET]

button until the Lock icon disappears from the LCD screen.  This will return the

transmitter to normal operation.

When the Transmitter is in “LOCK-OUT” mode, programmed functions will continue without
interruption; only manual functions are prevented.

SETUP STEP 4:  Synchronize the Receiver to the handheld Transmitter.

To synchronize the security codes between the transmitter and the receiver:

Slide the ON/OFF/REMOTE slide switch to the REMOTE position.
Slide one end of a paper clip into the small hole below the word “LEARN” to reach the Learn button inside the
receiver box.
Using the paper clip, press and release the LEARN button inside the box – you will hear a BEEP.
Within 5 seconds, press the

[MODE]

button on the transmitter, and you will hear several short beeps which

indicate that the transmitter’s code has been programmed into the receiver.
