Skybox Appliance 6000 Quick Start Guide

Skybox version 11.6.100

Updating via RMM

The following instructions explain how to update the firmware via the RMM interface on your
Skybox Appliance. If you have not activated RMM, refer to the directions in

Updating via the

console

Updating the firmware

Before you start

You must have permission to log in to the RMM interface of Skybox Appliance from your local
machine. For instructions, see

Configuring Java for login

To update the firmware

1. Open the ZIP file and copy the entire content of the package file to the root directory of a

USB flash drive.

2. Connect the USB flash drive to the back panel of the Skybox Appliance machine.

3. Make sure that no other USB is connected.

4. Connect to RMM as in steps 1 through 3 in

Checking your firmware revision via RMM

5. Hover over Remote Control and select IKVM over HTML5.

6. Log in as the root user.

7. Make sure that Skybox is not running on the Skybox Appliance machine before performing

the update.

To shut down the Skybox Server, run

service sbvserver stop

To shut down the Skybox Collector, run

service sbvcollector stop

8. Reboot the machine using the BMC Web Console:
