STARTING/STOPPING THE CARPENTRY
CHAINSAW
Before Starting the Carpentry Chainsaw:
1. Disconnect the power cord from the power
supply.
2. Make sure that the chain is properly
mounted and correctly tensioned: The
chain is correctly tensioned when the
drive links are just able to be pulled
from the guide- bar groove when pulled
from the center of the guide bar. If the
tension requires adjustment, refer to
“REPLACING THE BAR AND CHAIN” in
the Maintenance section of this manual for
adjustment instructions.
3. Check the tension of the bar-clamping
knob before use. If it is loose, securely
tighten the bar-clamping knob by turning
it clockwise.
4. Check the chain-oil level and fill the tank
as needed.
5. Check the cutting teeth sharpness of the
saw chain.
6. Make sure the chain is well lubricated.
7. Connect the power cord to a power supply.
8. Stand upright and hold the carpentry
chainsaw in a relaxed position.
9. Make sure the saw chain is not touching
the ground or any other objects.
10. Hold the carpentry chainsaw with both
hands: with one hand on the main handle
and the other hand on the auxiliary handle.
11. Make sure that you have a secure and
balanced footing.
Proper Grip on Handles
1. Wear non-slip gloves for maximum grip
and protection.
2. The fingers should encircle the handle,
with the thumb wrapped under the front
handle.
To Start the Carpentry Chainsaw
1. Connect the power cord to a power
supply.
2. Stand upright and hold the carpentry
chainsaw in a relaxed position.
3. Hold the carpentry chainsaw with both
hands: with the one hand on the main
handle and the other hand on the auxiliary
handle.
4. Make sure that the base plate is level on
the work piece before you start the cut.
5. Always allow the saw chain to come to full
speed before touching the saw chain to
the workpiece.
6. Press and hold the lock-off button with
your thumb, and then squeeze the trigger
switch with your finger to start the saw.
Release the lock-off button and continue
to squeeze the trigger for continued
operation.

Never start the carpen-
try chainsaw when it is
in contact with the work piece

Do not attempt to start
the saw when the saw
chain is in a cut.
To Stop the Carpentry Chainsaw
1. Release the trigger switch to stop the
carpentry chainsaw.
WARNING
When the saw chain is
stopped during cutting,
release the trigger switch; remove the saw
chain and guide bar from the wood, then
restart the carpentry chainsaw, bring up to
full speed, and make sure that the saw is
still operational before continuing to cut.
Maintenance
WARNING
Always wear safety
goggles or safety glasses
with side shields during power tool
operation or when blowing dust. If the
operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
WARNING
When cleaning the saw,
DO NOT immerse in
water or other liquids.
WARNING
To avoid accidents
always disconnect the
saw from the power source before inspecting,
cleaning, or performing maintenance.
WARNING
When servicing, use only
identical replacement
parts. Use of any other parts may create a
hazard or cause product damage.
