BACK-UP CONNECTED TO POWER
STATION/CHARGER UNIT FOR 9.6V, 12V,
AND 14.4V TOOLS ONLY
Plug ac cord into the standard power outlet.
The power light will turn green. It is now OK
to place the battery pack into the charger
port. When the battery pack is inserted into
the charging port, the green charger light will
turn "ON" Fig. 1.
If you desire to operate a tool, plug in the
corded back-up plug into the power
station/charger unit. Then, plug the corded
back-up into the tool. It is not necessary to
remove the battery pack from the power
station/charger unit (Fig. 5).
The tool is now ready for use in a similar
manner to the battery pack. Simply pull the
trigger switch to turn the tool "ON".
POWER LIGHT OPERATION:
Green
– ac cord is plugged into the
standard power outlet and the charger and /
or corded back-up is now ready for use.
Red
– The power station is overloaded. Wait
approximately 5 minutes for the base unit to
cool down. Push the reset button and the
red light will turn to green. If the light turns
green, then the power station is now ready
for use again. If the light remains red, simply
wait a few minutes longer.
Do not push the reset
button and operate the
tool.
The power station/charger unit may
become permanently inoperative if this
condition persists. Do not operate any tools
if the red light turns back on when you
release the reset button.
No Light
– Please make sure that the ac
plug is properly connected to the standard
power outlet and power is available. If power
is available, then the unit may be defective.
Please return the unit to a qualified service
center for repair or replacement.
Note:
This tool is not intended for
continuous use. When used continuously,
use a duty cycle of one minute ON, and 60
minutes OFF.
CHARGING BATTERY PACK
Plug power plug into your standard power
outlet, then insert the battery pack into the
charger port in the power station/ charger
unit. The charger’s green light will turn "ON".
This indicates the battery pack is charging.
The green light remains "ON" as long as
battery is in charger and does not shut off
Fig. 1.
If the power light turns red, then the green
charging light will turn off and the battery
pack will not charge until the base unit cools
down and the manual reset button is
pushed.
After normal usage, the battery pack
requires approximately 3 hour charging time
to reach full capacity.
When the battery pack is fully charged,
unplug the charger (unless you’re charging
another battery pack) and slip the battery
pack into the tool handle.
Note:
It is OK to charge the battery pack
while using the corded back-up to power a
tool. The green charging light indicator may
dim or turn off when the tool is being loaded.
The green light will return when the tool is
turned off.
IMPORTANT CHARGING NOTES
1. The battery pack accepts only about 80%
of its maximum capacity with its first few
charge cycles. However, after the first few
charge cycles, the battery will charge to full
capacity.
2. The charger was designed to fast charge
the battery only when the battery
temperature is between 40˚F (4˚C) and 105˚F
(41˚C).
3. A substantial drop in operating time per
charge may mean that the battery pack is
nearing the end of its life and should be
replaced.
4. If you anticipate long periods (i.e. a month
or more) of non-use of your tool, it is best to
run your tool down until it is fully discharged
before storing your battery pack. After a long
period of storage, the capacity at first
recharge will be lower. Normal capacity will be
