Spark Plug Inspection & Adjustment
Spark plugs should be replaced according to the Maintenance Schedule.
Use only the recommended type of spark plug in the recommended heat range.
1.
Disconnect the spark plug can from the spark plug.
2.
Clean any dirt from around the spark plug base.
3.
Remove the spark plug using a suitable spark plug tool.
4.
Inspect the electrodes and centre porcelain for deposits, erosion or carbon fouling.

If the erosion or deposit is heavy, replace the spark plug.

Clean a carbon or wet-fouled plug with a plug cleaner, otherwise use a wire brush.
5.
Check the spark plug gap using a wire-type feeler gauge.

If adjustment is necessary, bend the side electrode carefully.
6.
The gap should be 0.6mm
–
0.7mm.
