The room temperature thermostat will open when the
right temperature is reached and will turn off the burner
altogether, while the circulation pump will continue to
operate for a further 20 seconds to recover the residual
calories in the boiler.
2.1.2
“Summer/Winter” switch set to WINTER
on “MURELLE BF” versions
Once the pilot burner is lit and the desired temperature is
selected on the heating potentiometers, if the room tem-
perature thermostat calls for heat, the circulation pump
will start up and the fan will go onto maximum speed in the
“20 BF CE”
version, whereas it will start up in the
“IONO”
versions. As the temperature approaches the value selec-
ted on the heating potentiometer, the boiler will automati-
cally start to modulate to supply the system with the actual
heat output required. The room temperature thermostat
will open when the right temperature is reached and will
turn off the burner altogether, while the circulation pump
will continue to operate for a further 20 seconds to reco-
ver the residual calories in the boiler. The fan will continue
operating at minimum speed in the
“20 BF CE”
version,
whereas it will stop altogether in the
“IONO”
versions.
2.1.3
“Summer/Winter” switch set to SUMMER
An electronic sensor controls the temperature of the
water for washing purposes on output from the instanta-
neous water preparer. Upon demand for domestic hot
water, the boiler will start up and operate at maximum
heat output to reach the temperature selected on the
potentiometer.
At this stage, the pressure will vary automatically and
continuously to keep the desired temperature constant.
2.1.4
Temperature adjustment of hot water
for washing purposes
Except for the
“20 R - BFR CE IONO”
versions, the
“MURELLE”
boilers are equipped with a potentiometer
for adjusting the temperature of hot water (5, Fig. 2) with
a setting range from 35°C to 60°C.
Consequently, the user can select the hot water tempe-
rature as he chooses. This temperature is controlled and
kept constant by a high-sensitivity sensor.
This system offers a double advantage:
1) the boiler adapts perfectly to any type of hot water
system, whether the mixing system is of the mechani-
cal or of the thermostat-controlled type;
2) the thermal output is dosed according to the tempera-
ture required, which means a considerable saving in
fuel.
2.1.5
Central heating temperature adjustment
The central heating temperature can be adjusted by tur-
ning the knob of the heating potentiometer (3, Fig. 2),
which has a range of between 35°C to 80°C.
To ensure optimal boiler efficiency at all times, we recom-
mend not to drop below a minimum working temperature
of 50°C.
2.2
LOCK OUT RESET OF ELECTRONIC
EQUIPMENT
The
“IONO”
version boilers are provided with automatic
ignition type (without pilot). As a result, they are equipped
with an FM 11 control and protection electronic program-
mer. When the switch on the control panel (1, Fig. 2) is
pressed, the boiler will start operating upon demand for
heating or for drawing off hot water, sending, via the FM
11 programmer, a discharge current to the ignition elec-
trode and simultaneously opening the gas valve. Ignition
of the burner normally takes place within 2 or 3 seconds.
A fault occurring during the ignition stage or during ope-
ration could cause the appliance to “lock out”, so activa-
ting the deblocking push-button. Press the push-button
(6, Fig. 3) for the boiler to start up again automatically.
Should the appliance again “lock out”, please approach
the Authorized Technical Service Centre for them to carry
out a check.
2.3
TURNING OFF BOILER
To turn off the
“20 CE - 20 BF CE”
version boilers tem-
porarily, just set the switch (1, Fig. 2) to OFF. In this way,
electric power will not reach any of the electrical equip-
ment, and only the pilot flame will remain lit.
To turn off the boiler completely, including the pilot, just
turn the gas valve button (10, Fig. 2) counterclockwise.
In the
“IONO”
versions, operate the switch (1, Fig. 2) to
turn the boiler off altogether. Close the gas-feed pipe tap
if the boiler remains inoperative for a long period.
2.4
WATER FAILURE SAFETY DEVICE
The boiler is provided with a water pressure switch set at
0.6 bar which trips and so blocks operation whenever the
pressure inside the boiler drops below the setting value.
The tripping of the pressure switch is indicated by a red
warning light flashing on the instrument panel (7, Fig. 2).
