WARNING
– The fuel supply system must be sized in relation
to the burner flow rate and must be equipped with
all the safety and control devices envisaged in the
standards in force in the country where the appli-
ance is used.
– The fuel tank should be cleaned regularly.
6.9.1
Connecting the fuel circuit to the burner pump
SOLO HE EV
thermal units are configured for receiving the diesel
supply pipes through the pre-cut openings located on the side
panels of the jacket.
For the thermal unit with power exceeding 35 kW it is necessary to
install an automatic shut-off device, according to the indications of
Circular Letter no. 73 of 29/7/71 issued by the (Italian) Ministry of
Interior.
To connect the pipes:
– remove the pre-cut sections of the chosen opening and insert
the supply pipes (4-5) provided with the appliance
Fig. 35
– connect the pump delivery and return pipes then, before fully
tightening the couplings, orient the pipes towards the open-
ings on the side
– mount the fuel supply line filter (9), supplied with the appli-
ance, on the intake pipe (5)
– connect the pipes (4-5) to the fuel supply circuit
– tighten all the couplings at the end of the operation.
m
WARNINGS
The pump is configured for two-pipe operation. For
single-pipe operation, it is necessary to remove the
by-pass screw (3) and replace it with the cap and its
seal, supplied on request.

WARNINGS
– Before starting up the burner, make sure that the
return pipe is free of obstructions. Excessive coun-
ter-pressure would cause the pump’s sealing com-
ponent to break.
– Make sure that the pipes are sealed.
– The maximum allowed negative pressure value is
0.4 bar (300 mmHg). Beyond this value, gases are
released by the fuel which could cause cavitation of
the pump.
– In systems with negative pressure, we suggest let-
ting the return pipe reach the same height as the in-
take pipe. In this case, the bottom valve is not neces-
sary. If instead the rerun pipe does not reach above
the fuel level, the valve is indispensable.
6.9.2
Pump priming
To prime the pump, simply start the burner and check whether
the flame ignites. If the burner locks outs before the fuel ar-
rives, wait at least 20 seconds then press the burner unlock but-
ton (PSB) and wait for the entire start-up phase to be completed
again until the flame ignites.
