A2-4 - Positioning the tray
Before fixing the slide tray to the projector, make sure that the the locking pin
is in the “0” position of the metal base plate. If it isn’t, rotate the base plate until
it clicks into place (fig.A). Fix the tray in place on the projector and adjust the
“0” position of the tray with the “0” position of the projector.
A2-5 - Taking off the tray
You can remove the slide tray by simply reversing the fixing procedure.
However, in case of a problem, if the tray is locked on the projector, you can
take it off by shifting the central lock aside. Lift the tray off and hold upside
down. Take the slide out of the slide gate and replace it into the tray through
the slot in the base. Revolve the base plate until it locks into the “0” position.

A2-6 - The lenses
The lens mount has a standard diameter of 52.5mm. Helical as well as 52,5
rack mounted lenses can be used. SIMDA lenses are especially designed for
SIMDA projectors and guarantee the best light output.
For the 400W SIMDA projector, it is recommended to use lenses having a
good aperture (less than 1:2.8).
A2-7 - Positioning the lens
Place the lens into the lens holder and adjust it manually.
Helical lenses are positioned manually by rotation.
Rack mounted lenses is adjusted via the knob (6).
A3 - SETTING UP THE PROJECTOR AND SECURITY
Before connecting the projector to the mains: make sure the voltage
selector on the base of the unit is set to the correct voltage.
Read carefully section A3-1 to section A3-4
Connect the unit to the mains and switch it on.(20). The fan operates, on some
models the arm of the slide gate makes movements, initialising the machine.
Note: The mains plug (class II, without earth connection) is compatible with
mains plug (class I, with earth connection).

The projector must be switched off
Projectors fifted with voltage selcetor (fig C) can be adapted to AC mains: 110-
130 – 220-240 volts. Choose the nearest value from the mains. Use a coin to
adapt the voltage selector. (fig. C)

A3-2 - Mains fuse
The mains fuse must be adapted to the mains voltage.
Projector with 250 W lamp:
Voltage selection: 220 or 240 V, use a Slow-blow fuse T 2A
Voltage selection: 110 or 130 V, use a Slow-blow fuse T 4A
Projector mono voltage 230 V, use a Slow-blow fuse T 2A
Projecteur mono tension 115 V Placez un fusible retardé de T 4A
Projector with 400 W lamp:
Voltage selection: 220 or 240 V, use a Slow-blow fuse T 4A
Voltage selection: 110 or 130 V, use a Slow-blow fuse T 6A3
Projector mono voltage 230 V, use a Slow-blow fuse T 4A
Projecteur mono tension 115 V Placez un fusible retardé de T 6A3
To access the fuse (fig.D), mains cable must not be connected. Pull out the
fuse cover (18). Fuse holder can be taken off and removed.
Note: If mains adaptation is correct and if you find a dammaged fuse, that
means that there is a problem into the projector. Then , don’t put a fuse with a
higher value, you could dammaged the projector itself.
A3-3 - IN/OUT switch
This inversor (15) should be switched to “I” (IN) position to light the lamp, if any
lamp command device is connected to the DIN 6 pins plug or “Audiovisual”
socket (see setion B).
A3-4 - BRIGHT/ECONOMY switch
This switch (14) determines the power of the lamp:
100% of light on “Bright” position, 70% on economy position.
This position considerably improves lamp life.

A3-5 - Automatic regulation
(SIMDA 3262 and 3462 projectors)
The projectors fitted with this facility controls the lamp voltage in Bright or
Economy position in the IN/OUT control. The range of the regulation is +/- 10%
of the voltage selector value.
The projectors 3245 AF and 3445 AF are fitted with a special device protecting
the lamp from voltage fluctuations (only in external mode).
A3-6 - Security
Projectors are fitted with an independent and automatic thermal overload cut-
out. It works between 0° to 45°. Of course, the fan is independent of this
security.
A good security protects slides: if a mount is defective and prevents the normal
movement of the arm in the slide-gate, security is on (see § B2.2) and the
movement is stopped. To go on, you must take off the tray (see § A2.5), switch
off the projector and then switch on again and put the slide-tray on the
projector.
A3-7 - Independant and variable ventilation
Projectors have a built-in independant ventillation assuming the cooling of the
slide and the machine.
The option “variable ventilation” (see the commercial department) allows to get
the maximum of cooling when the lamp is off, making noise reduction, useful
for a multivision.
