8. Before initial use
8.1 Charging the battery
CAUTION!
Only charge the speaker using a suitable USB mains adapter that has an
output voltage of 5 V and an output current of at least 2 A. A USB mains adapter is not
included. Only use the USB charging cable (B) supplied to charge the device. Never use
a USB port on a PC or laptop to charge it.
The battery must be charged in dry environments only as it is not splash-proof when the
device cover (12) is open.
The integrated battery must be fully charged before using the speaker for the first time. Proceed as
follows:
•
Open the device cover (12) on the back of the speaker.
•
Connect the USB A plug of the charging cable (B) to a suitable USB mains adapter.
•
Connect the USB C connector of the charging cable (B) to the USB C charging socket (11) of the
speaker.
The four charge level LEDs (13) inform you on the approximate charge level of the battery during the
charging process:
LED display
Charge level (approx.)
One LED flashes
< 25 %
One LED lights up and the second LED flashes
25–49 %
Two LEDs light up and the third LED flashes
50–74 %
Three LEDs light up and the fourth LED flashes
75–97 %
All four LEDs light up
98–100%
During the charging process, the power/charging LED (15) lights up orange. For fully
charged batteries, the TWS LED (14) lights up green and the power/charging LED (15)
switches off.
•
Disconnect the USB charging cable (B) from the speaker after charging and close the device
cover (12).
A low battery level will be indicated as follows:
A series of beeps will sound and the power/charging LED (15) will briefly light up red.
Then, the power/charging LED (15) will display the current operating mode again.
This process is repeated in increasingly shorter intervals until the battery is depleted. The
speaker will then switch off automatically.
