7.3.16 Shovel arms operating lever
Push it to lower the arms, pull it to raise them.
SWITCH OFF THE MACHINE AND APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY
MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS AND INSPECTIONS.
Always keep the machine switched off, when it is not used.
Always test all the controls loadless and ensure that everything is working correctly.
Ensure the area of respect and the area of work is free of people and objects, the dimensions of which could
jeopardize someone’s health.
7.4 Operation of the machine
7.4.1 Starting the motor
Ensure the parking brake is set and the change gear is placed in neutral. Check oil level inside the
pan. Make sure the tank contains the fuel necessary for the work to be done. During the cold season provide gas oil
supplement. Accelerate to about ¾ of the stroke, push the clutch pedal, and engage the starter. Caution: When the motor is
switched on, do not detach the contacts from the battery to avoid damages to the electric installation.
7.4.2 Stopping the motor
Reset the accelerator command and activate the stopping device.
7.4.3 Dumping
Set the motor at low rpm, activate the bucket raising lever and accelerate only if necessary.
To lower the bucket, maintain the motor at low rpm and activate the control lever.
Both at the end of the bucket upward stroke and bucket downward stroke, immediately reposition the control lever in middle
position, to prevent safety valve operation and consequent heating of the oil.
7.4.4 During operation Use the prescribed personal protective equipment.
The machine tools driver shall have experience in mechanical means, and know the various controls and the operating
features of the machine he is driving. The driver shall be a prudent and industrious person.
The carry out of hazardous manoeuvres because of laziness or to save time may cause accidents and the general stop of
all the operations on the work site.
The operator is the person entitled to operate the machine and consequently he is the only responsible for it.
In case of machine trouble, never work when the machine is running. Stop the machine and check the trouble.
During the operation of the machine, of its elements or of its accessories, it is strictly forbidden to remove any
guard and shield (e.g. cases). Never modify switches or other safety and/or operating cycle control devices, because such
an intervention could seriously damage the mechanical elements of the machine and injure the health of the operator.
Pay attention to the operating and the moving parts.
It is forbidden to climb or to sit on or inside the machine, also when it is switched off.
Do not allow riders.
Do not fill the bucket with loads hindering the view from the driving seat.
Do not move with raised bucket.
Do not force the control levers when the bucket is at the end of the stroke (up and down).
Do not brusquely brake or steer at high speed.
Do not permit unauthorized persons to enter the work area of the machine.
At the end of every working cycle, ensure the inside of the bucket is cleaned, especially if you transport wet earth or
concrete. Clean with water jets and use a shovel or a broom, if necessary.
Raise the bucket only on solid or level soil.
Back up steep slopes when bucket is empty. Drive up steep slopes when the bucket is loaded.
When leaving the Dumper, always rest the bucket on the ground, stop the motor, remove the ignition key and apply the
parking brake.
7.4.5 Operating on the work site and on the road
Follow the traffic regulations.
Be cautious in carrying out every single manoeuvre.
Avoid any brusque manoeuvre both with the machine operating and stopped, in particular on uneven and slippery soils.
Do not raise or lower the bucket when the motor is running at high rpm.
Prevent everybody from entering the range of action of the machine, in particular next to the central articulation of the frame
Do not force when the bucket is at the end of the stroke (up and down).
Raise the bucket only when the machine is positioned on safe and level soil.
Do not load on lateral slopes, but align the machine with the slope.
Avoid bulky or projecti
ng loads that could hinder driver’s view.
Be careful when operating next to ditches, digs, loose soils etc.
Check every new work area for possible obstacles hidden by grass, leaves, etc.
Slow down and reduce the load on difficult soils.
Whenever possible, place the machine frontally to the unloading area, so that it can go in reverse in case of danger.
Back up steep slopes when bucket is empty. Drive up steep slopes when the bucket is loaded.
In case of prolonged works on difficult soils, ballast the tyres with the appropriate antifreezing liquid.
7.4.6 How to stop the machine
Release the clutch and softly brake and stop. Select neutral with the change gear and the reverse gear. Apply the parking
brake as soon as the machine has stopped. Let the motor slowly idle for about 2 minutes, before switching it off. Turn the
ignition lock key to position “
0
”.
7.4.7 How to park the machine
