9 Troubleshooting
9.1 Isolate faults
Detailed information on troubleshooting can be found in the instruction manual [ } 16] . The following table only
gives an overview of possible troubleshooting.
Malfunction Measure
No display u Check the service voltage.
Error message in display u Analyse error message ( Warning/error/priority messages [ } 27] ).
Measured value seems wrong u Make sure that the sample to be measured corresponds to the operating
conditions.
u Adjust calibration.
u Check the correct mounting of the device.
u Ensure that the servicing work has been carried out in accordance with
the servicing schedule.
u Perform sensor check.
9.2 Warning/error/priority messages
Detailed information about the messages can be found in the instruction manual [ } 16] . The messages are divided
into the following categories.
Colour Category Description Image
Orange WARNING Warnings call attention to an unusual condition.
They have the following effects:
l
System remains in operation.
l
Measurement results must be evaluated with
caution.
l
The cause of the warning should be corrected
in a timely manner.
l
Once the cause has been corrected, the warn-
ing is automatically deleted.

W= Warning
E= Error
P= Prioritised error
Red ERROR Errors indicate a malfunction which makes correct
measured value acquisition impossible. They have
the following effects:
l
Measured values ​​are set to 0.
l
Assigned power output terminals go to the
programmed measured current
«On error.»
l
Assigned limit values are deactivated.
l
If an output is programmed for errors, it is
switched.
Red PRIO Prioritised errors draw attention to a serious mal-
function. Further operation is impossible and the
measured values are set to 0.
Prioritised errors can only be cleared by a
service technician.

Decommissioning and disposal
The photometer and the associated peripheral devices must be disposed of in accordance with the regional legal
regulations. A list of the materials used for this device can be found in the
instruction manual [ } 16] .
Return to the appropriate country representative
For all devices and spare parts that are returned, a completed RMA form must be sent to the responsible SIGRIST-
PHOTOMETER AG country representative (RMA form 14711D can be downloaded from
www.photometer.com ).
