Wireless Transceiver Tool (TLX) (For WFLN Version 1)
Viewing Signal Strength (RSSI)
Use the RSSI command to view the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) value for the last hop
of received messages. This command provides information for both the strength of the last received
message and average strength of all messages received in the past 60 seconds. The RSSI value includes
the WFLN signal and any received interference signal.
For good communication, the values will usually be negative numbers and greater than –50. Greater
values indicate stronger received signal strengths. Positive values are also possible. A value of –128
indicates no signal was detected.
To view the node’s signal strength:
1. Type one of the following:
•
RSSI TLX
•
RSSI FPX
•
RSSI FLNX
x
(where
x
is the FLN device address (drop))
•
RSSI FLNX
y
(where
y
is the FLNX EUID)
2. Press
ENTER
.
The following example shows RSSI values between an FPX and the devices that it communicates with.
