In order to complete your connection with a computer running a Windows Operating System (Windows 95,
98, ME, 2000) you will need to tell your computer to connect via a LAN. This is done via the
Internet
or
Internet Options
control panel.
1.
Click on your
Start
button.
2.
Scroll up to
Settings
, and click on
Control Panel
.

In the
Control Panel
window, you will find an Icon labeled either
Internet
or
Internet Options
.
Click on this Icon. When the Icon opens, click on the
Connections
tab at the top of the window.
Please consult the following screen shots to find your version of the
Internet
or
Internet Options
control panel, and edit your settings to match:

Internet Explorer version 5 or 5.5
If your
Connections
screen looks like this, Click the
Radio Button labeled
Never dial a connection
. Then
Click on the
LAN Settings
button.
In the
LAN Settings
window, make sure that all boxes are
Unchecked
.
Click the
OK
button to close this window, and then click
On the
OK
button in the
Internet Properties
window.
Then close the
Control Panel
window.
