Setting communication across CUs
Communication across CUs is shown in function diagram "7362 – Control Unit transition
(Page 74)".
Precondition
The RAILCTRL Technology Extension must be available and parameterized on all Control
Units.
The synchronization of communication across CUs must be specified externally via an
isochronous PROFIBUS/PROFINET. This means that all of the Control Units used must be
connected isochronously via PROFIBUS/PROFINET to a higher-level control system.
Note
For a project that has been newly created, the following fault message can be output when the
system runs up for the first time: "Two Control Units identified on the DRIVE-CLiQ line"
(F01357).
As a consequence, observe the following sequence when assigning parameters:
1. Power-up. When doing this, the point-to-point connections of the Control Unit must be
disconnected.
2. Parameterize the communication between the CUs (p30490, p30492).
3. Carry out a POWER OFF at the target device.
4. Connect the Control Units via the DRIVE-CLiQ line.
5. Run-up the system (POWER ON).
Settings
If you are using several Control Units, then you must activate the communication to the
previous and subsequent Control Unit by selecting the DRIVE-CLiQ socket being used in
p30490[0...1].
In addition, in p30492[0...1] you must set the coordinate offset for the previous and the
subsequent segment. Observe the communication direction when setting the coordinate offset.

r30493.0...5 and r30494.0...5.
