Specific conditions of use (for ATEX)
Gas:
The front of the SIMATIC IPC477E multi-touch industrial PC offers at least IP65 degree of
protection. Taking into account the ambient conditions under which it is used, the device
must be installed in a suitable enclosure with at least IP54 degree of protection according to
EN 60079-7.
The device must be installed so that the risk of mechanical damage is low.
•
The equipment shall only be used in an area of not more than pollution degree 2, as
defined in EN 60664-1.
•
Provisions shall be made to prevent the rated voltage from being exceeded by transient
disturbances of more than 119 V.
Dust:
The front of the SIMATIC IPC477E multi-touch industrial PC offers at least IP65 degree of
protection. Taking into account the ambient conditions under which it is used, the device
must be installed in a suitable enclosure with at least IP54 degree of protection according to
EN 60079-31 for groups IIIA and IIIB or IP6X according to EN 60079-31 for group IIIC.
The device must be installed so that the risk of mechanical damage is low.
A maximum temperature class of T70 °C can be achieved when installed according to the
operating temperature specified in Table 1.
