9.1.12 Ground-fault protection module
The overcurrent releases ETU45B and ETU 76B can be optionally
equipped with a ground-fault protection module. It is used to protect
downstream loads against unpermissibly high ground-fault currents.
Depending on the ground-fault protection module version, the set
value being exceeded will cause either an alarm only or an alarm
and a trip at the same time.

The following device combinations are possible:
There are two means of ground-fault detection:
- symmetrical load of the phase conductor by vectorial summa-
tion
- Direct measuring of the ground-fault current with a separate
transform 1200 A : 1 A
Alarm and trip signals can be transmitted through the

and the PROFIBUS-DP/Modbus.

- Ground-fault protection by way of alarm signal and tripping the
circuit breaker
- Tripping function can be switched off
- Module programmable via:
- the graphical display (ETU76B)
- the test socket with the BDA (ETU76B)
- the PROFIBUS-DP with a PC and the software
"powerconfig" → (page 27-2) (ETU76B).
- Ground-fault detection mode selectable:
- vectorial summation

9.1.12 Erdschlussschutzmodul
Die Überstromauslöser ETU45B und ETU76B können optional mit
einem Erdschlussschutzmodul ausgestattet werden. Es dient dem
Schutz nachgeordneter Verbraucher vor unzulässig hohen
Erdschlussströmen.
Das Überschreiten des Einstellwertes führt je nach Ausführung des
Erdschlussschutzmoduls nur zur Ausgabe einer Meldung oder gleich-
zeitig auch zum Auslösen des Überstromauslösers.

Folgende Gerätekombinationen sind möglich:
Die Erdschlusserfassung kann durch zwei Arten erfolgen:
- bei symmetrischer Belastung der Außenleiter durch vek-
torielle Summenbildung der Ströme
- Direkte Messung des Erdschlussstromes mit einem sepa-
raten Wandler 1200 A : 1 A.
Alarm- und Ausgelöstmeldungen können über den

Hinweis Note
Bei Erdschlusserfassung mittels vektorieller Summenbildung
der Ströme in einem 4 poligem Netz wird dringend empfohlen,
auch den Strom des N-Leiters einzubeziehen. Dazu ist ein N-
Wandler erforderlich, der ggf. nachgerüstet werden muss.
Anderenfalls führt auch ein entsprechender Strom im N-Leiter
zum Ansprechen des Erdschlussschutzes. → (Seite 8-7)
If the ground fault is detected by vectorial summation of the
currents in a 4 pole network, it is imperatively recommended
to include the current of the neutral conductor, too. This requi-
res a neutral conductor transformer, which may have to be
retrofitted.
Otherwise, a corresponding current in the neutral conductor
will also activate the ground-fault protection. → (page 8-7)
