If any of these criteria are not met, only SNI service personnel is allowed
to replace a defective drive.
6.2
Identifying a defective drive
The red LED on the OLR housing identifies a disabled drive which can be replaced.
You can identify the defective drive with the aid of
XConfig
(on a graphical terminal)
or
SYSADM
(on an alphanumeric terminal). Under
XConfig
, defective or disabled
drives are shown in red; under
SYSADM
, an error messages appears for each
defective or disabled drive.
Another way of identifying defective drives is to use the
RAIDmaster Storage Manager
(see the “RAIDmaster - System Administrator’s Guide”).
Using XConfig to identify a defective hard drive
To use
XConfig
you need a graphical monitor.
