Faults
Remedy
Causes
Oil foams in oil sump.
Water in oil.
Defective oilsupply system or
cooling coil.
Gear unit exposed to cold air from
machineroom ventilator: Water
condensing.
Climatic conditions.
Check state of oil by the testtube
method for water contamination.
Have oil analysed by a chemical
laboratory.
Check the oilsupply system or
cooling coil, replace any defective
parts. Consult operating
instructions for oilsupply system.
Protect gear unit with suitable heat
insulation. Close air outlet or alter
its direction by structural
measures.
Contact Customer Service;
if necessary, place wetair filter.
Pressure monitor triggers alarm.
(If gear unit with oil pump)
Oil pressure < 0.5 bar.
Check oil level at room
temperature and, if necessary,
top up oil.
Check and, if necessary,
replace oil pump.
Check oil filter and, if necessary,
clean, see section 10.
Temperature at backstop too high.
Locking function fails.
Damage to backstop.
Contact Customer Service.
Check backstop and,
if necessary, replace.
