2.3

Setup and connection

Overview

You must perform the following steps to commission the serial interface module and control it

from the SIMOTION system:
1. Assemble and wire the ET 200S distributed I/O system complete with interface module (IM)

and serial interface module.

2. Set up the PROFIBUS connection between the ET 200S and the SIMOTION hardware

platform.

3. Set the PROFIBUS DP node address on the IM.
4. Switch on the terminating resistor at the first and last bus node.

Note
For steps 1 to 4, refer to the

ET 200S Distributed I/O System manual.

This documentation is included in the SIMOTION SCOUT scope of supply as electronic

documentation!
