Operating Modes and Data Transfer
The following operating modes can be adjusted for the mini star coupler 7XV5450-0BA00/DD:
•
Cascading for star topology, RS232 = Off
•
Cascading for star/ring topology, RS232 = On
•
Cascading for ring topology, RS232 = Off
•
Star topology with external master redundancy
For more information, see 2.2.2.1 DIP Switch S1 in Table 2-1 and Table 2-2 .
Data transfer for individual operating modes is described below.

The RS232 interface is disabled in the receipt (RX) and transmit direction (TX) in compatibility mode as well
as in extended mode.

Data transfer is the same in the star topology, RS232 = On, and ring topology, RS232 = On, operating
modes. This is why the 2 modes are combined in the star/ring topology, RS232 = On mode.
