NOTE
When the DIGSI cable has been plugged into X1 and the RS232 interface is active, the maximum possible
baud rate is reduced from 1 MBaud to 115 kBaud. If you use only the fiber-optic interfaces, the baud rate is
1 MBaud.

NOTE
The fiber-optic connectors must always be crossed to the opposite side. This means you must connect the
transmitter T to the receiver R of the opposite side and vice versa.
DIP Switch S1
The S1 DIP switch is on the bottom of the device and has 8 DIP switches that can be operated externally (see
Figure 2-2 ). You can adjust the operating mode of the mini star coupler for example by using the DIP switch

All DIP switches can be operated from outside.
For the standard application, the default setting of the DIP switches are as follows, and the device can be used
immediately:

All optical fiber receivers have non-flickering light OFF
•
Cascading available for star topology
•
RS232 interface disabled
