7.1
Monitoring and cleaning work
7.1.1
Function test
▸
Fault-free functioning of the driver assistance system should be ensured by means of
regular monitoring.
▸
The function test must be carried out by the customer.
▸
It is recommended that the customer designate a person responsible for the vehicle to
carry out the function test.
▸
Place object in the detection zone and start reversing with reverse gear activated.
▸
The driver assistance system must trigger if an object is detected in one of the two
monitoring fields.
▸
In case of unexpected error behavior, check the components of the driver assistance
system for mechanical damage.
▸
In case of mechanical damage, contact SICK Service.
7.1.2
Visual control
▸
Unscrew plug connectors and check male contacts for moisture and signs of corrosion.
▸
Immediately replace plug connectors damaged by corrosion.
NOTE!
Corroded plug connectors can significantly impair the performance of the 2D LiDAR
sensor.
▸
Check the electrical installation regularly.
▸
Make sure that all cable connections are secure.
▸
Defects such as loose connections, scorched cables, or cables with damaged
insulation must be corrected immediately.
▸
Check the sturdiness of the brackets by looking for cracks and other signs of damage.
▸
Check the fittings once a year.
