Display messages

If a message is longer than the display, the parts of the message will alternate.

If you have turned on the Caller ID function, see page 39 for display messages
related to Caller ID.
ADD PAPER & /
PRESS START KEY
(alternating messages)
This appears when a fax has been received to memory
(page 29) because there is no paper in the tray. Add
paper and press
to print the fax.
A.M. IN USE
(FO-A760 only)
The answering system has answered a call and the
outgoing message is playing.
COM ERROR XX
(XX is a number used by
service technicians to
diagnose problems)
Transmission or reception was not successful. If this
message alternates with another message indicating a
problem, fix the problem and try the fax operation again.
If no other message appears, press
to clear the
message and then try the fax operation again. If the
error persists, see
Line Error
on page 50.
COVER OPEN
Open the operation panel and make sure that the print
compartment cover is completely closed (press down on
the
marks on each side of the cover).
DOCUMENT JAMMED
The original document is jammed. See the following
section,
Clearing Paper Jams
. Document jams will occur
if you load more than 10 pages at once or load
documents that are too thick (see page 17).
FAX RX IN MEMORY
This appears when the Key Lock function is activated
and a fax has been received to memory because there
is no paper in the paper tray. Release the Key Lock (see
page 44), add paper, and then press
to print
the fax.
