Dimmer 74-350
Operation
This 750VA universal dimmer is designed for DIN-rail mounting
and is 2U wide. This universal dimmer is suitable for dimming
resistive, inductive and capacitive loads. The total connected
load can max. amount to 750VA. The dimmer functions both as a
phase control dimmer and as a reversed phase control dimmer.
The choice between both dimming principles is automatically
made. The dimmer can be used with or without memory and is
provided with an automatic detection and indication of overload.
The following 4 operating modes are possible: 0-10V analog
control; 1-10V analog control; 1 push button operation and 2
push button operation.
Installation
The load (min. 60VA; max. 750VA) has to be connected to the
'load connection terminals' (see
Fig. 1
), between terminal N and
terminal
.
Connect the control to the ‘control terminals’ (see
Fig. 1
).
The power supply is connected to the ‘connection terminal
power supply 230V~’, between terminals L and N (see
Fig. 1
).
The following 4 operating modes are possible (
Fig. 2 and 3
):
- analog 0-10V control, to be connected to terminals 1 and 3
- analog 1-10V control, to be connected to terminals 1 and 3
- 1-button control mode with push buttons, to be connected to
terminals 1 and 3 + possibility to connect atmosphere button
between terminals 1 and 2.
- 2-button mode with push buttons, to be connected to
terminals 1, 2 and 3
If everything has been connected correctly and the power is
switched on, the load LED and the error indication LED light
simultaneously for 1s. If no load is connected, both LEDs blink.
A connected load can manually be switched on and off by
means of the select button.
Installation recommendations:
- If you install several modules next to each other, maintain a
distance of min. 1 module with suitable blank plates.
- When installing several dimmers on top of, or alongside each other,
it may be necessary to reduce the max. power (see load table).
- Preferably place the dimmers at the bottom of the distribution
board.
- Check the temperature. If the temperature in the distribution
board rises too high (max. 35°C), provide additional ventilation.
- This appliance is not suitable for controlling motors.
- When using a ferromagnetic transformer, check whether it is
suitable for use in combination with an electronic control.
- When using halogen lighting with ferromagnetic transformers,
take into account the effi ciency of the transformers. Load the
transformers to at least 80% of their nominal power. Take into
account the effi ciency of the transformer when calculating the
total dimmer load. The transformer has to be suitable for dimming.
- Electronic transformers can exhibit unstable behaviour if the
wire length between the transformer and the lamps exceeds 2m.
- Lamps that are connected through dimmers do not light at the
max. light intensity. There light level will always be smaller than the
light level of an identical lamp connected directly to the mains.
- Do not switch on the dimmer if the transformers are not loaded.
Settings
Factory setting
The dimmer is running in mode 1: 0-10V analog
A. Select operating mode
You can modify the operating mode. Enter the dimmer’s
programming mode: press the select button for >3s.
- the load switches off
- the input LED 0-10V blinks.
> 3s
To modify the operating mode, briefl y press the select button repeatedly.
The operating mode is indicated by a blinking input LED.
Note: if you select 2-button mode, all LEDs blink.
In programming mode, the input LEDs can have the following meaning:
LEDs
Meaning
Upper LED blinks, the other
LEDs are out.
Selection of 0-10V
control (mode 1)
Middle LED blinks, the other
LEDs are out.
Selection of 1-10V
control (mode 2)
Lower LED blinks, the other
LEDs are out.
Selection of 1-button
mode (mode 3)
All LEDs blink.
Selection of 2-button
mode (mode 4)
Exit the dimmer’s programming mode to save the selected
operating mode: press the select button >3s:
- the input LEDs no longer blink, only the input LED of the
selecte doperating mode blinks continuously (if the 2-button
mode was selected, all input LEDs are out).
Note: if not action is carried out in programming mode for 3min,
the programming mode is automatically exited. The settings are
not saved.
