Keypad and Keypad Bezel
It is recommended to replace the keypad (9) if the keys are malfunctioning or if there are deep
scratches on the keypad (9). The keypad (9) domes must also be checked for damage, dust or
contamination before changing the keypad (9).
Sometimes the keypad bezel (10) is changed to another colour, for example for the purpose of
identifying the radio as belonging to a certain group of operators. Note that this procedure is also
used when changing the coloured keypad bezel (see
Caution! Fragile item.
Handle the keypad and keypad bezel with care. Do
not use force to remove or refit the keypad - the snap hooks on the keypad
bezel can be easily broken under force.

Remove the keypad and keypad bezel
Warning! Protect your eyes.
Wear PPE to protect your eyes from loose
debris that may be behind the keypad.
1. Hold the radio firmly. Insert the tool between the casing and the keypad (9) on the right-hand
side of the keypad bezel (10) at the snap hook. Carefully ease the keypad bezel (10)
unlatched.
2. Repeat at the snap hook on the left-hand side of the keypad bezel (10), and then at the bottom
of the Keypad (9).
3. Carefully peel the keypad bezel (10) away from the radio Front Cover assembly starting at the
top right-hand corner. Carefully lift the keypad (9) and remove.
