statuses every three minutes. You can change how often this information is updated by checking
Continual Refresh, which updates data every 3 seconds, or by manually refreshing as needed.
◦ Green = Good. Communication to AutomationControl and/or the IEDs are working and the
device configuration has been recognized and processed at the headend system.
◦ Red = Bad. Something needs attention. If the following items are red, try the solutions in the
order listed.
1. Radio Communications with AutomationControl:
The Sensus device is not
communicating with the headend through the base station. Go to the Radio tab and verify
that radio settings are correct. See
Troubleshooting Radio Communications
on page 13
.
2. Configuration Loaded from AutomationControl:
A profile likely has not been configured
for the device at the headend, so a system administrator needs to do this before you can
continue.
3. IED [N] Online Status:
There is no communication to the IED. Verify that the IED is
connected, powered on, in online mode, and that it is configured to match the settings on the
Sensus device. If there is still no communication, the configuration settings might need to be
adjusted in AutomationControl.
“Last Signal Strength” shows the most recent transmitted and received signal strength.

Excellent
: Greater than 11
◦ Yellow =
Moderate
: 7 - 11
◦ Red =
Weak
: 6 or below
To improve a moderate or weak FlexNet radio signal, verify all antenna and antenna cable
connections, raise the antenna, or reposition the antenna.
