Device internal temperature (command = gt)
The device internal temperature can be read via the interface. The internal
temperature lies some degrees above the environment temperature in
continuous operation because of the intrinsic heating due to the electronics.
Bus address (command = ga)
This parameter is important for bus operation with more than one RS485 device.
In this case each device gets its own address. At RS232 devices ADR is usually
set to 00.
Every device communicates via the
global address 99
, (independently of its
own address). This is the way to get communication with a device where the
address is unknown.
For RS485 operating mode, you may change parameters of all bus pyrometers
using the
group address 98.
The devices will not respond at this address. So
only setting commands like em, lz, ez and as are available.
Baud rate (command=br)
Here you pre-set the speed of the serial interface (in kBd) depending on your
hardware. Following values are possible:
1200 Bd, 2400 Bd, 4800 Bd, 9600 Bd, 19200 Bd and 57600 Bd and 115000Bd.
Default setting is: 19200 Bd
9. Operation via serial interface
With operation via serial interface there are several features:
- reading the measured object temperature
- reading the limits of the basic range
- diagnostics (signal unit OK?, device internal temperature measurement OK?)
- programming of a shorter sub-range within the basic range (with software
SensorWin.exe)
For interface operation you may either use the program "SensorWin.exe" (see
chapter 10) with a terminal program (Term.exe) or you write your own
RS232/RS485 communication software for data exchange with the device (see
Appendix referring data format and protocol).
